How it works

Four steps. It starts with a call.

The process is the same for every engagement: book a call, get a fixed fee in writing within two business days of us seeing the financials, and the work starts on engagement. Nick scopes the engagement, reviews every finding and takes your debrief call.

On a call working through the shape of a deal
  1. 1

    Book a call

A short call with Nick about the deal. Bring whatever numbers you have. You will get a straight read on whether the work is worth doing.

  2. 2

    Fixed fee confirmed

We confirm the right service level and a fixed fee in writing within two business days of seeing the financials. No charge, no obligation.

  3. 3

    Work performed

On engagement we issue the standard information request and begin. You are notified immediately if records are materially incomplete.

  4. 4

    Report and debrief

You receive the written report and workbook, a debrief call, and follow-up questions answered for 30 days after delivery.

What we need from you

The standard information request

Issued on engagement as a checklist. Fixed fees assume it is met; where records are materially incomplete, we notify you before incurring additional time. For scoping, the first two items and the contract are enough. And if the business runs Xero, much of the list can come straight from the file: Nick is a Xero Certified Professional and works directly from the ledger when access is shared.

  • Financial statements for the last three financial years
  • BAS lodgements for the same period
  • Business bank statements
  • General ledger detail or accounting-system access
  • Contract of sale or heads of agreement
  • Premises lease and any equipment leases
  • Payroll summary and employee entitlements position
  • Details of related-party arrangements (rent, wages, loans)

How your documents are handled

The documents you provide carry the financial records of third parties, and are handled accordingly: encrypted at rest, stored in a private bucket with no public access, and reachable only through signed URLs. Files are retained for 90 days by default and deleted earlier on request.

See the privacy policy for the full handling position.

Common questions

Due diligence is priced from the schedule on our pricing page, based on the transaction value and the service level. Documents are flat-priced per product. We confirm the fee in writing before you engage us, and fixed fees assume the standard information request is met.

50% when you engage us and 50% on delivery. Fees do not depend on settlement, finance approval, or what the analysis concludes.

Uploads are encrypted at rest in a private bucket that can only be reached through signed URLs. Files are kept for 90 days by default and deleted earlier if you ask. Financial records of third parties are treated as confidential and never shared outside the engagement.

We tell you before any extra time is spent. Material gaps get flagged with exactly what is missing and what it would take to close them. Out-of-scope work only happens at the set hourly rate, and only with your approval.
